Born on June 24 in Prague to Blažena and Jiří Vondráček.
Childhood she spent in a small east Bohemian town called "Slatinany" with sister, Zdena and brother,
Jiří. She began playing the piano and was involved in various types of sport as a young girl. |

On April 27 won the song contest "We are searching for new talents" with the G. Gershwin Song
"The Man I Love".
On September 3 recorded the song "Cervena reka"(Red River Valley). |

On June 9 graduated from twelve-year school in Chrudim Entered an engagement at the theatre Rokoko in September. Won the prize "The Golden Nightingale" in the category female vocalist. |

Won "the Silver Lyre" at the Music festival in Bratislava for a duet "Oh baby, baby" with Marta
Kubišová. |

Starred in the Bořivoj Zeman fairy tale film "A fabulously sad princess" (Silene smutna princezna) Represented at "The Golden Cock" festival in Rio de Janeiro with the song "Vzdaleny hlas" and became the "Miss Festival" there. |

Participated in the International Music Trade Fair MIDEM in Cannes.
With Marta Kubišová and Václav Neckář appeared at Olympia in Paris for one month. Created together with Marta Kubišová and Václav Neckář the Trio "Golden Kids" on November 1 |

In Japan she recorded her first and not last foreign language album "Isle of Helena" produced by the record company Artia. The Seventies represented for Helena the big world tour. She appeared all over Europe and as well in Canada, Japan, Brazil, Cuba and other places. |

Toured across Canadian cities Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec At the beginning of the Eighties she started the collaboration with Jiří Korn and Gustav Brom Band. They appeared not only in the Czech republic, but as well in Poland, East Germany and in the other European countries. |

On May 5 she shined at the Theatre "Na Vinohradech" in her Solo Musical Show "With Helena on the
Broadway". Gustav Brom band accompanied her. By this opportunity she received from Supraphon platinum
for over 4 million sold units. A few days later she released two Musical-song CDs "The Broadway Album". One sung in Czech and the other one in English. |

On June 24 she celebrated her 50th birthday und released the book "Helena about herself and the
celebrities about Helena" The December concert was recorded and broadcasted by the Czech television. In the same time double CD "Helena at the Lucerna Hall" was released. |

On September 29 she was the only one guest by the Karel Gott`s concert at the Carnegie Hall in
New York. In October she released her new CD "Vodopad", which had a new, modern sound. This album brought her back at the top of the album charts and the record sales charts. |

On Easter she became a part of "the Concert of the Stars". Together with Eva Urbanová, Peter Dvorský
and Karel Gott appeared during 2001 and 2002 across Czech Republic and as well in the Kremlin Hall in
Russia (September 2002) In November she divorced Hellmut Sickel. On November 30 received in the Spanish Hall of the Prague Castle "Lady Pro 2001 award". This Prize is awarded to the creative, successful, devoted, deep human Women, which by their lifetime effort achieved the remarkable successes. |

In February/March toured across Australia. In March received the award from the Pop Music Academy as "The best female singer of 2001" and in the same time she was inducted into the "Hall of Fame". Her song "Dlouha noc" became a smash hit of 2001. Recorded the first part of her TV show "the Long Night with Helena" in the autumn. Before Christmas she went on tour with Karel Gott across the biggest Halls in the Czech republic and Slovakia. The tour went on in 2003. |

On February 22 married the businessman Martin Michal. On September 16 she starred again as Fantine in the Musical Les Miserables, which received a new adaptation. In December she appeared for the first time with her Christmas concert at the Zofin palace in Prague. |

On May 1 co-moderated with Jens Riewa in the German town Zittau a gala show, which was arranged in
an honour of the entry of the new countries to the EU. On May 18 released her first DVD "Prelety", co-produced by Supraphon and Czech television. |

On April 1 she appeared for the first time as a guest in the Musical Cats, performing the role of
Grizabella the cat. On June 14 appeared for the second time at the Carnegie Hall in New York. She shared the stage with Karel Gott, the accompanying group Boom Band and as a special guest featuring Ryszard Rynkowski from Poland. On October 18 celebrated in the Top Hotel Praha in the presence of TV cameras her 40-year anniversary on stage. In the magnificent gala show, entitled "The Maid from the Red River", she appeared with over 35 singer colleagues and they paid a tribute to her. In late 2005 she released the 4 CD set "The Golden Collection", featuring her 40-year-career. She released the book "I remember and I don't regret anything". |

on January 27 made her debut on the Bratislava Nova Scena stage in the musical „Hello, Dolly!”, as Dolly Levi in May sang in Prague, Katovice, Moscow and Kiev in the project, “ The Concert of the Stars” in June released DVD “Helena Gold” including her TV Show, “The Maid from the Red River” in September accepted the invitation to “The Evening of the Memories”, which was a part of the Sopot Festival in October/ November danced successfully with Milan Placko through the Show, “Let`s Dance” till sixth round in November returned after five years to the Lucerna Stage. Her guests were Jiri Korn with 4TET and Jitka Zelenkova in December invited Jitka Zelenkova and Miro Dvorsky, accompanied by Gustav Brom Orchestra to her Christmas concert |
